5 Things I’d Do If I Wanted to Get Pregnant Naturally
These days, a lot of pregnancies come as pleasant surprises. But if you’re like me—and plan everything (because surprise = stress)—then you might be preparing your body for pregnancy ahead of time. That’s exactly what I did before conceiving my daughter-which I successfully did on the first try, and today I’m sharing the top five things I focused on to support natural conception.
This is the exact advice I would give to any woman that is going to try to conceive or has been actively trying to conceive. Unfortunately, I see so many women struggling to conceive now. Eliminating toxins, reducing inflammation and balancing hormones is key.

1. Detoxed + Balanced My Body with a Bioenergetic Scan
This scan changed the game for me. It pinpointed what was throwing my body off—imbalances, toxins, food sensitivities—and gave me a customized plan with homeopathic remedies. After following the protocol (avoiding certain foods, taking remedies), I felt incredible: no more skin rashes, better digestion, balanced hormones and more energy. I also had my husband do one, too!
I truly believe this detox was why I felt amazing throughout pregnancy—no morning sickness or nausea, no illness, just literally thriving.

2. Ate Nutrient-Dense, Whole Foods + Blood Sugar Balanced Meals
Your baby will literally be built from what you eat—so quality matters. I prioritized:
Organic fruits and veggies
High-quality protein
Healthy fats
Avoiding processed foods and harmful additives
Another thing that will balance your hormones and eliminate inflammation in your body is eating a blood sugar balanced diet. This is the greatest advice I can give in regards to preconception and general health. Unsure how to balance blood sugar? Check out the extensive blog post I wrote about it or check out my course! —> [Read the blood sugar balancing blog post here].
I also drank clean, mineral-rich water from my hydrogen machine, added electrolytes (Taylor Dukes is my fave), herbal teas, and bone broths to stay hydrated. Not sure where to start with clean eating? Download my free Ingredients No-No List to avoid toxic ingredients —> [Grab the freebie here.]
3. Limited (or Cut Out) Alcohol
Alcohol can mess with hormones and egg quality. I’d personally avoid it entirely for at least three months before trying to conceive. It’s not forever—but a short-term sacrifice would give your future baby the best shot at a healthy start.
4. Tracked My Cycle (Without Hormones)
After ditching the birth control pill (which I’d been on for years), I wanted a natural way to track my cycle—and I found it with Natural Cycles. It’s FDA-cleared and hormone-free. I used it to prevent pregnancy, and later to plan it. —> [Learn more about Natural Cycles here.]
📖 If you’ve been on the pill too, I highly recommend reading The Period Repair Manual by Lara Briden. It helped me understand what the pill had done to my body and how to restore balance. —>[Buy The Period Repair Manual.]
5. Moved My Body + Got Adjusted
I exercised regularly at a strength-training HIIT gym—accountability was huge for me. Movement helped reduce stress, balance my hormones, and keep my energy high.
I also had regular chiropractic adjustments (perk of working for a chiropractor!). Keeping the spine and nervous system in alignment supports hormonal health, organ function, and overall communication throughout the body—AKA, your baby-building system. I’ve seen many women conceive naturally after consistent chiropractic care, even when they were told they couldn’t- some even with TWINS!
Want to find a prenatal-friendly chiropractor? Check the ICPA directory. I’ve written a lot about chiropractic care- I worked for a great chiropractor for over 8 years. —> [Read more about chiropractic care here.]
Don’t Forget: Men Matter, Too
It takes two to tango—and two to make a baby. Sperm health plays a massive role in conception, so encourage your partner to:
Eat nutrient-dense foods + blood sugar balanced meals
Reduce alcohol + toxin exposure
Get plenty of sleep
Manage stress
Exercise moderately
Fertility isn’t just a you thing. It’s a team effort.
Final Thoughts
I did everything I could to make my body a safe, strong, healthy home for a new life—and I truly believe that work made a difference and is what enabled us to conceive on the first try. Whether you’re ready to try now or just planning for the future, small intentional choices add up. This is exactly what I’d recommend to any woman that is struggling or desiring to conceive.
